Vera Vanderschalk an accomplished concert guitarist has performed extensively throughout Europe and America.

Vera, a native of the Netherlands, began her love for Classical Guitar as a pupil at the Rotterdam Music School and four years with guitarist/composer J.A. van Hoek who encouraged her to attend the Royal Conservatorium in Madrid, Spain.

There she refined her skills and received advanced training as a guitar major.

Her study under renowned maestros E. Pujol and S. de la Maza along with exposure to Flamenco is present in the technique required to play the vibrant music of Spain which she does so well.

Vera’s New York city debut at the Henry Miller Theater in 1976 followed her naturalization as a US citizen and her work as a Hudson valley artist which included a grant playing at Historical sites as well as collaborations with quartets or ensembles/duos such as violin, vibraphone, and flute.

While in New York, she expanded her music to concert Flamenco as a student of D. Koster.
